Horses, bands, and floats will wind through downtown Mesquite during the 61st annual Mesquite Rodeo Parade on April 7, beginning at 10 a.m. The Rodeo Parade is a community wide event bringing together civic clubs, churches, community groups, sports teams and schools. The parade will follow its traditional route starting on Belt Line at Newsom, proceeding through downtown Mesquite and ending on Galloway Avenue at New Market. Grand Marshals for 2018 will be Mesquite Police Chief Charles Cato and Mesquite Fire Chief Mark Kerby. To register to be in the parade, please visit www.cityofmesquite.com/RodeoParade . Enjoy the racing season at the Southwest’s most famous dirt track! With its half-mile, oval clay track, Devil’s Bowl Speedway hosts the best in auto racing. Hours are 7 pm to 11 pm for the Spring Nationals. Races are March 16, 17, 31, April 7, 14, 21, 27,28, May 5, 12, 19, 26, 30 June 2, 9, 12, 16, 23, 30, July 7, 14, 21, 28, Aug. 4, 11, 18, 25, Sept. 1, Oct. 5, 6, 19, 20.
