A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer: Writings to Stop Violence against Women and Girls are a groundbreaking collection of monologues by world-renowned authors and playwrights, edited by Eve Ensler and Mollie Doyle. “Each piece captures a spirit of being human in a series of recognizable situations, provoking empathy for those involved and heightening our awareness of why and how such things come to pass.” -Theater Review New Zealand.   3. Lone Star Legacy Gala and Concert featuring The Beach Boys

    Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Beach Boys will headline the 12th Annual Lone Star Legacy Gala and Concert on February 24, 2018 at Mesquite Arena. Proceeds from the event are used to fund innovative educational programs to benefit teachers and students in Mesquite ISD. The Mesquite ISD Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and since inception in 2004, the Foundation has awarded more than 325 grants totaling over $1.3 million.     Presented by Historic Mesquite, Inc. Tours of the beautiful S.D. Lawrence home, located in Opal Lawrence Historical Park, are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the 4th Saturday of the month. Museum Hours are are from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tues. through Fri. Be sure to note the unique painted ceilings! Tours also available by appointment. Fourth Saturday fees are $3 each, no more than $8 per family.
